Review by hotel critic
Review of Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey HotelDuring my recent stay at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel, I found the experience to be a mix of enjoyable aspects and areas in need of improvement. The location is conveniently placed for accessing Hershey's attractions, making it ideal for those seeking family-friendly fun. The warm and welcoming staff truly stood out, with the front desk team proving to be especially friendly despite being understaffed—which I can definitely empathize with, as a fellow traveler. While the facilities, including the impressive indoor/outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness center, were commendable, the cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired. There were noticeable remnants from previous guests that detracted from the overall experience. On the dining front, I treated myself to local flavors at the Dog and Pony Restaurant, but was taken aback by the steep prices—$36 for oatmeal and orange juice seemed excessive. In summary, the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey offers great potential with its amenable staff and solid amenities, but it would benefit greatly from a thorough housekeeping overhaul to elevate its standing among boutique hotels. If you’re traveling with friends or family, it might make for a pleasant base for exploring the region, provided cleanliness improvements are made.
